Tennis Industry Magazine, now called Racquet Sports Industry, has reported that squash is the only racquet sport that is growing in the United States, based on court construction and gear sales. "It's a very cerebral game -- it's akin to chess,"
Because of its global reach, squash suits business travelers. "It's a very cerebral game -- it's akin to chess," says Chicago Neurobiologist Dr. Sangram Sisodia, who learned to play the game as a child in India. As a researcher of Alzheimer's disease, adds the Tribune, he firmly believes in increasing blood flow to the brain through such exertion. "Squash has beneficial aspects physically, mentally and emotionally."

Ross Genge wins Sportsmanship Award at the PCO
Picture the scene: Late Friday night, last match on court between Lorne (Showtime) Stienke from the River Club and Ross Genge from VRC. Showtime has quite a following from the River Club with his unusual style and on court presence. Anyway the crowd was going berserk and cheering Showtime with every miss hit and his uncanny talent of hitting the ball as loose as possible. Ross just kept his cool with all the cheering going to Showtime and eventually pulled this match out in five. --Steve Lawton - April 10, 2003 Visit http://apolloemrik.com/pco/2003pco.htm- to view results
