2005 World Masters Games
Squash Alberta is working with the 2005 World Masters
Games to help promote the squash competition during the Games.
The Edmonton 2005 World Masters Games is the largest
international amateur multi-sport event, attracting more than
16,000 elite and recreational athletes who will compete in 27
sporting events. This event offers sport enthusiasts a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to participate at an international level with other
Masters athletes from as many as 100 different countries. Edmonton
will host the sixth World Masters Games from July 22 - 31, 2005.
Participants do not have to qualify for their events; the only
requirement is that they meet the minimum age, which is 35 for
squash.
Squash Alberta has already begun to promote the
World Masters Games in our province at events, through our clubs,
on our web site and through our newsletter. Having athletes from
across Canada and the world participate is what makes this event
memorable and we need your help to make this happen. Information
for your newsletters and email distributions can be provided to
help you promote the Games in your province or territory. Recognizing
the importance of the Internet as a valuable tool to reach participants
of this sporting event we would greatly appreciate you adding
the World Masters Games as a link on your web page and into your
event listings. A 2005 World Masters Games logo has been attached
for use on your web page to increase the presence of this event
and encourage people to participate.
From time to time we will provide information that
can post on your website or distribute to your membership via
email. We look forward to seeing your province/territory represented
in 2005!
