2005 National Bank Financial Winter Carnival Open Squash Tournament
attracts Canada’s #1 Junior! Keith Pritchard, age 17, from
Calgary, AB confirms that he is coming to Vernon to compete.
Sherman Dahl, Tournament Director, is also pleased to confirm
some of Canada’s best open players will be in Vernon for
the tournament Feb 25 – 27, 2005.
Defending champion Andrew Lynn of Vancouver (#7 in Canada) will
be battling Canadian #10 Ian Power of Hanover (brother to world
champion Jonathan Power). Ian Power has his sights set on winning
the 2005 event. Ian has been playing well on the international
PSA tour and will give Lynn some serious competition.
The elite open draw is an eight man format and will also include:
Joe Forster of Edmonton (#20 in Canada), Jonathan Hill of Calgary
(#22 in Canada), Jorge Quintero of Victoria (#83 in Canada) and
Bryan Ford of Edmonton (#87 in Canada).
Rob Morris of Roster’s stated “We need to work on
building our junior program in Vernon, and attracting the #1 Canadian
Junior will highlight the great sport of squash for the local
players”.
The total cash prize is $4000 for 2005. This could not be possible
