The John Burris Memorial Trophy for Sportsmanship was donated
by Adele Burris following the untimely passing away of John.
It is kept on display at the Vancouver Racquets Club. Be sure
to look for it next time you are there.
Note: Squash BC is increasing the promotion of sportsmanlike
conduct at, and during Squash Events. The Annual J Burris
Memorial Trophy and a partnership with Mark Ingram are two
of our recent sportsmanship programs that have been implemented.
If you note someone worthy of recognition please let us know

Repeats As Champion
At this years National Junior
Champs in Charlottetown, PEI, BC was represented by 20 juniors,
10 boys and 10 girls. It was very gratifying to see our province
so well represented considering the cost to fly there and
the outbreak of SARS in Toronto. The effects of jet lag were
very evident during the early rounds but everyone adapted
quickly to the 4 hour time change. May 5, 2003
