The Eric Vanderham Memorial
Trophy Being Awarded To Men's "B" Winner Lewis
Lees-Buckley by Eric's Wife Paula, Eric's Mother, and Trophy
Sponsor Tony
Duffield. Lewis Defeated Shawn Pattison In 4 Games To Win
a Tough "B" draw.
Eric Vanderham was a player that played at a "B"
Level out of Valley Racquets. He died last spring while
on court. His wife Paula at the ceremony said that he was
playing really well that day and people tell her, "
He was hitting a lot of Nicks?" She asked if that was
good. We all assured her it
was. Eric left a wife and 2 small children. Eric played
in the Fraser Valley Div 2 league for 2 years. He was 38
years old when he passed away. Lewis will keep the trophy
for about 3 months, after which time it will be placed in
a display at Valley Racquets until next year's tournament.
It will be a
perpetual trophy for the B winner.
