Sunday, Nov. 2 - Power and Nicol
in the Final
Peter Nicol and Jonathon Power both won their semi-final
match, setting the stage for the Final matchup that Canadian
squash fans, and indeed squash fans all over the world,
have hoped for. Peter Nicol defeated the fourth seed, Thierry
Lincou of France, in three games. Jonathon Power overcame
a determined and feisty Anthony Ricketts in a dramatic four-game
match.
Saturday, Nov. 1
The sixth seed, Anthony Ricketts, from Australia upset the
second seed, John White, from Scotland. World No 1, Peter
Nicol, required five games to overcome Lee Beachill of England.
Graham Ryding continued his brilliant play, but could not
a much better rested Lincou, who prevailed in four games.
Canadian No 1 and world No 5, Jonathon Power, moves into
the semi-finals with a four game victory over the current
world champion, David Palmer of Australia.
Friday, Oct. 31
To the delight of the Canadian audience at West Edmonton
Mall, Graham Ryding of Canada upset Malaysia's No 1 player,
Ong Beng Hee, to earn a spot in the quarter-finals. Jonathon
Power, along with the rest of the tops seeds, also move
on to the quarter-finals.
