BC Winter Games Rules for Squash
Each of the eight Zones shall field a team of
six players consisting of:
- No more then 4 athletes of one gender under
the age of 15 as of the last day of the 2008 BC Winter Games
- No less then 2 athletes of one gender under
the age of 15 as of the last day of the 2008 BC Winter Games
- 1 certified Intermediate or better Coach
- 1 Assistant Coach or Team Manager of the
opposite sex to the Coach
The tournament format will be based on a 32
person feed in drop down draw for one gender and a 16 person feed
in drop draw for the other gender. There will be eight seeds established
for the 32 person draw and 4 seeds for the 16 person draw. Seeding
will be based on Squash BC rankings as of Dec. 31, 2007. The remaining
draw will be created on a random basis, with the provision that
wherever possible athletes from the same Zones will not compete
against each other in the first round.
There will be Gold, Silver and Bronze medals
awarded for both individual results and team results. Team results
will be based on the following format:
Each individual team member will earn points
for their team depending on where they place in the tournament.
The tournament draw will be organized in a feed in drop down manner
with A, B and C flights. The purpose of the draw format is to provide
as many specific identifiable finishing positions as possible. Points
will be based on the following schedule:

In the event of a tie, teams finishing positions
will be based on the following criteria in descending order:
- most individual medals per team.
- If equal, by the greater number of matches
won against the tied competitors;
- if equal, by the greater number of games
won against the tied competitors;
- if equal, by the greater positive difference
between the games won and lost among the tied competitors;
- if equal, by the greater positive
difference between points won and lost among the tied competitors
