New Dunlop Squash Balls

A change in appearance and packaging of the Dunlop squash ball, Official Ball of  Squash BC and Squash Canada, may cause some confusion this season. The ball hasn't changed (so they tell us), but the appearance, the name and the package has. The old Dunlop XX Yellow Dot Ball will now be called the "Revelation Pro XX" ball and will have 2 (two) yellow dots on it.

It will be phased in over the season so don't throw any new "old" yellow dot balls  Remember it is supposed to be the same ball.

The new four-ball range, which abandons the existing and supposedly widely misunderstood usage of coloured 'dot' balls, includes two balls that are bigger and more playable - with the aim of bringing more fun into the game. The range is based upon a unique design concept which is exclusive to Dunlop, focused on extending ball "hang-time".  To be on the safe-side, memorize the guide below.

Squash BC will be supplying sanctioned tournaments with the old style Dunlop XX yellow dot ball until the stock is finished. I expect that we will be changing over sometime after the New Year.

The Revelation Pro XX
traditional-sized black ball for professional, advanced and team players. This remains the official ball of the WSF, PSA, WISPA and Squash Canada, endorsements which ensure that Dunlop is the only ball used in all international professional competitions. The Revelation Pro XX is identified by a double yellow dot. (Replaces old yellow XX.)

The Revelation Competition XT
the existing traditional-sized ball for club players. This has a similar performance to the Revelation Pro XX, but an increased 10% 'hang-time'. The Revelation Competition XT is black, and identified by a single yellow dot. (Replaces old XT.)

The new Max Progress
ball is 6% larger than the traditional-sized ball, and has instant bounce, thus eliminating the need for warm-up. The black Max Progress has a 20% longer 'hang time' than the Revelation Pro XX, thereby making it ideal for 'improvers' and recreational players.

The Max
ball is 12% larger, and has a 40% greater 'hang time' than the Revelation Pro XX. Exhaustive testing has proved this ball to be the perfect 'starter' ball, aimed at the all-important beginner. The blue Max ball also has instant bounce, which again eliminates the need for warm-up.

The new Revelation Pro XX ball made its international tournament debut at the WSF-hosted Women's World Junior Championships in Antwerp, Belgium.
