Natasha Doucas President

Natasha was Interim Squash BC President in February 2018, stepping in to fill the position when the previous President stepped down to take the position of Executive Director in the Squash BC Office.

Before this, Natasha had been Director of Marketing and Communications for 2 ½ years.

Natasha’s love of the game started at an early age, competing nationally as a junior. She played on the Quebec Provincial team just before taking a break from Squash to complete her studies in Education at francophone Universities.

When Natasha returned to squash in 2001, she quickly became very passionate about the game of Doubles and soon competed in Montreal and Toronto. She brought this passion with her when she relocated to Vancouver in 2006 and has been heavily involved in the community since. Natasha served as the Doubles Committee Chair (2012-2018) and is a member of the Jesters Club.

Professionally, Natasha has used her business and education degrees to drive solutions in process management in the areas of Government, Healthcare and Legal.

Rachel Au Director at Large

Rachel Au started playing squash as a junior and is currently playing both singles and doubles out of the Evergreen Squash Club. Rachel works as a paralegal and is currently working on her law degree at the University of British Columbia.

Rachel has volunteered for Squash BC as a member of the 2017/18 Squash BC Awards committee.  With her background and passion for the sport, Rachel is an excellent addition to the Squash BC Board.

Rory Johnston Director at Large

Rory Johnston completed his Bachelor of Commerce at UBC in 2011 and is currently working as a Marketing Consultant helping companies tell their story with his blend of writing, design, analysis and product knowledge. Rory has been a Director of the Vancouver Squash League board and currently plays squash out of the Bentall Centre Athletic Club.

With Rory’s marketing background he will make an excellent addition to the Squash BC Board.

Elizabeth Macey Director at Large

Liz Macey started playing squash as a junior and now plays both singles and doubles. She comes highly recommended as someone who will bring an excellent work ethic, a great attitude and a sense of fun to the board. Liz has her Commercial Pilots License and works in aviation as a pilot, dispatcher and in-flight operations. Liz plays out of both Vancouver Racquets Club and Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club.  

Liz is a very good ambassador for squash and will be an excellent addition to the Board.

Bruce Matthews Director at Large

Bruce Matthews is on the Squash BC Board of Directors as the VP of Player Development. He has a passion for the sport of squash and is currently an active Masters player participating in City Leagues, Provincial tournaments and National Championships.

Bruce is a resident in the Lower Mainland and currently works as Business Development Director for TELUS and has completed the Not-For-Profit Governance Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Donalda Meyers Director at Large

Donalda Meyers has been actively involved in the Squash community in Vancouver since 1989 when she was first introduced to the game at Simon Fraser University. She started playing in the Vancouver Squash League in the fall of 1989 and has played recreationally since that time.  She currently plays league out of the Bonsor Recreation Complex.

Donalda has worked for the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University as part of their administrative team for several years and is currently involved with managing several special projects for the Faculty. She served on the Vancouver Squash League board for several years and is very excited to be part of the Squash BC board.

Jimmy Valliere Director at Large

Jimmy has been the VP Technical of Squash BC for three years. Prior to that, he was President of Nanaimo Squash Club. Jimmy is also a certified Squash Instructor, and a certified Local Referee.

Jimmy started playing squash when he was studying engineering at university in Nanaimo. He was eighteen years old at the time. He continued to play it at university in Edmonton and has kept playing it ever since. After finishing university, Jimmy moved back home to Nanaimo, and within a year joined Nanaimo Squash Club’s board of directors.

Professionally, Jimmy is a practicing structural engineer working for a local firm in Nanaimo. In addition to squash, Jimmy also enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and hiking.

Leonard Bruno Director at Large

Leonard Bruno is a CPA who has owned and operated a public practice for 24 years and has 20+ years’ experience as Director, Treasurer and/or President of not-for-profit boards such as the Italian Cultural Centre and 2 Senior Care Homes. 

Leonard has been playing squash for many years playing out of both Bonsor and Cameron Recreation Centres. He is interested in the position of Director, Finance and with his experience will be a good fit for this position.
