PRO SQUASH COACH - Evergreen Squash Club of West Vancouver

Position:  Assistant Squash Professional

Evergreen Squash Club is a not-for-profit organization, run by a volunteer board of directors, offering a wide-range of squash programs and activities for singles and doubles players. Our members span all levels of play, from novice to nationally ranked.

The facility includes 5 singles courts, 1 doubles court, a sports store, and gym. The Evergreen Squash Club’s squash program is a very active one with programming for both adults and juniors alike. We offer clinics and drop-in evening for adults, a very popular interclub league, and a box league that allows members connect with fellow squash players. Our junior program boasts junior clinics 6 days a week from ages 6-18.

The Evergreen Squash Club strives to employ top professionals in the industry that will enhance the daily experience enjoyed by our members at the club. With that in mind the assistant squash professionals squash duties will include:

  • Assist in overseeing the squash department including adult and junior coaching programs
  • Coordinating and promoting drop-ins, tournaments and social events
  • Actively recruiting new squash players
  • Travel to tournaments locally and out of town as needed
  • Assist in planning and implementing club wide member tournaments, events, and social gatherings
  • Be available to attend board meetings upon request -Assist in running the junior program
  • Provide private lessons to all level of play including young kids and beginners

Qualification

  • Minimum Level 2 certification
  • Assistant Squash Pro experience required
  • Experience coaching at all levels, including provincial and national level athletes
  • Minimum 5 years directing and overseeing junior squash programs, including developing new programs
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong playing and coaching background
  • Well organized and well rounded verbal and written communication skills
  • First Aid Certification

Remuneration

  • competitive base retainer
  • Lesson and camp revenues
